Although beauty is said to be in the eyes of the beholder, there are few that argue about Henrik Fisker’s timeless design of the Aston-Martin DB9. Replacing the DB7 in 2004, the DB9 was in production for 12 model years until it was superseded by the DB11 in 2016.

The Aston-Martin DB9 is a large grand touring coupe that blends elegance, power, and comfort in a stunning package.

Later, a Volante body style (convertible) was offered as a well. As these fine automobiles age, so do their mechanical parts. It is imperative that the recommended service maintenance intervals are always followed to keep your DB9 in factory condition which will help you reduce necessary break downs and costs.

This Aston-Martin DB9 Service is intended to as a guideline to owners, or perhaps potential owners, in what and when scheduled maintenance is recommended.

The Aston-Martin DB9 remained relatively unchanged throughout it’s lifetime, and therefore this guideline encompasses the entire 12 year production run.

Here at Gi Automotive Group we can even install Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for your Aston Martin right here at our shop.

When taking a closer look at the Aston-Martin Service Guide maintenance schedule, the major services are at about 20,000 mile intervals, with the biggest services at 40,000 and 80,000 miles. Oil changes should be done at 10,000 miles or at least annually. All 12 Spark plugs, coils, and wires should be changed at the 70,000 mile or 7-year mark. If taken proper care, these engines have proven to be robust and reliable.

Servicing and inspecting your brakes at the proper interval is crucial in maintaining your Aston-Martin DB9 properly. Not only is it beneficial to your vehicle’s performance, it is also a fundamental safety component that the Aston-Martin DB9 Service Guide recommends never be left unchecked during the service intervals. By their very nature, brakes are wear items that have a varying lifespan that is affected by driving conditions.

Tires, Suspension & Alignment

Tires are such a crucial aspect in a vehicle’s overall health and performance that unfortunately many of owners tend to ignore. There are many factors that affect tires; some of them can be controlled, while others are up to mother nature. Inspecting the condition of the tires at every service interval is recommended. Checking the tread wear depth and pattern can determine a lot about other parts of the vehicle.

GI Automotive carries a wide selection of road and track Aston-Martin Vantage tires on stock and available to order. A consultation is available to determine which tire is best for your individual driving needs.

Alignment can seriously affect both tire wear as well as the handling characteristics of a car. Therefore, it is imperative that the alignment is checked on a regular basis. The Aston-Martin Service Guide recommends checking camber, castor, and toe for tolerances within factory specification, or a custom specification if deemed necessary.

The suspension’s job is to not only keep a comfortable ride, it is also to provide optimal handling characteristics. Properly functioning suspension will keep alignment within specification in a straight line as well as in the corners. Moreover, this keeps the tires from wearing unevenly. At each service interval, it is recommended to check the suspension components for any squeaks, rattles, leakage, or play.
